How to design a kitchen using modular kitchen concept?

Modular kitchen is a art of kitchen design. Normally, in kitchen, there are lot of storage area needed to store the materials like vegetables, fruits, provisions utensils. when compare with other portion of the entire home kitchen only should having more storage area. So, Storage in kitchen occupies extra area and reduce the flooring area. In order to save flooring area in kitchen, a alternate method is applied in non flooring area ( example under kitchen top and over the kitchen top) is called modular kitchen.

Important parts of Modular kitchen:

What is base unit?

A storage unit is provided under the cooking kitchen plot form is called base cabinet. Normally a base unit is having depth of 2'0'' and height of 2'6''. The clear height between skirting and bottom of cooking plot form is called base cabinet.

The length of the base cabinet can be divide as per our requirement. The width can be divided for the standard size of accessories to be fixed. There are so many varieties of accessories is available in market for cutlery, plate, spoon, basket, waste, bottle etc. Base unit is a storage area where dumping of all kitchen materials through accessories. The accessories can be fitted on the inner side of the doors and can be pulled out and required materials ca be taken out. In base unit each and every area can be utilised. Even at the bottom of the sink a dust bin basket can be fitted. And in the corner of the base unit a corner accessories can be fitted. so every space can be utilised be different types of accessories. LPG gas cylinder should be placed in base cabinet.

What is Kitchen top?

Kitchen top is a area where we can place the cooking stove, Mixture grinder, oven and sink to make cooking as easy. Normally, a kitchen top must placed at the height of 2'6'' feet. No excuse for over height or below height from this 2'6'' feet. Because, in less than 2'6'' feet cooking plot form, we can't insert the LPG cylinder in to it. over than 2'6'' feet plot form can give the user uncomfortable.

Kitchen top can be covered by a glazed finishing to avoid getting dirty. The materials used may be with  granite, Marble, Glazed tile. Its ends must be nosing edge.

What is over head cabinet?

over head cabinet is one, which is hanged in wall over the kitchen top. Normally its depth is half the depth of base cabinet. The height of the over head cabinet may be 2'6'' feet height and depth may be 12'' inch. Its bottom should be at the top of splash area. Its top should be as lintel level. The height and length can be subdivided for our requirements. Electric chimney should be fixed at bottomof the over head cabinet.

What is splash area?

Splash Area is the area where A glazing finish should be laid in order to clean smoke dust easily. Normally it may be a granite of Ceramic tile finishing. The height of the splash area generally in between the kitchen top and over head cabinet. Its height normally may be 2'0'' feet height.

what is sink?

sink is one which is used to wash the utensils and conduct the waste water from kitchen to out. Normally sink top must be the top of kitchen plot form from which a depth of about 9'' to 12'' depth must be lowered. Its materials may stainless steel or granite.

 What is Tall unit?

Tall unit is a cabinet which connect the over head cabinet and floor. The depth of of Tall unit may be larger than over head cabinet. It is used to store the materials having bulk size.
